The visualized Linzer Klangwolke, which has taken place annually since 1997, is an open air event on the banks of the Danube in Linz.
In 2023, the hour-long show took audiences on a journey through different cultures around the world. Titled “ODYSSEY – A Journey Through Worlds”, this year’s story was centred around a young girl who was the only one to survive an apocalyptic catastrophe. Directed by Francesca Zambello, the open-air production was staged using music, lighting, video content, choreography, costumes and various stage sets.
Thanks to the close collaboration with set designer Charles Quiggin, the lighting design played a very special role in this production: light was used as one of the main architectural features of the individual ship sets. Paired with an illuminating backdrop of the Linz skyline and the graphic integration of video content, each individual scene of the show became a visual highlight in its own right.
A look behind the scenes can be found in this interview with EventElevator.
