This tour marked the end of an era in Austrian pop music history. The Austrian band “Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung” (1977-2019) redefined Austrian pop music and blended performance art, comedy and music into a highly sophisticated and entertaining spectacle. Austrian culture, language and sense of humor were central to their artistry. On their final tour titled “1000 years EAV”, the band played 94 sold-out concerts throughout Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

It was important for EAV mastermind Thomas Spitzer and front man Klaus Eberhartinger to combine all clichés and best-of moments of their 42-year career. The retro-style set design was based on many different backdrops and rounded off with an ACL-like, asymmetrical look made from modern moving lights. The lighting design had to be diverse: on the one hand, it had to create an intimate atmosphere and, on the other hand, it had to be strong enough to support a large rock concert show look.

The last show of this final tour was aired on national television and produced as a DVD, titled “1000 Jahre EAV Live”.
