A multi-media show was presented in Downtown Dubai in celebration of the UAE’s Mars mission “Hope Probe” on 9 February 2021. The LED screen of the Burj Khalifa was chosen as the platform on which to announce the successful entry into Martian orbit. Using the lamps and lasers that were still attached to the 829.8 m (2,722 ft) high building from its New Year’s Eve show, the lighting and laser design for this event was created and programmed on site and presented live that evening.
